Many of our Canadian friends and acquaintances never knew that our family used to own and operate at least three bakery franchises at one point back in the Philippines. Now situated in Toronto, Canada, starting a bakery business had once again come to mind when our family's newest generations have finally showed signs of interests on that old business venture. We thought that maybe time has finally come to make that first little steps in continuing that enterprise here on the Canadian soil.

I grew up watching our bakers make endless sweet buns or "pandesal" as we call it, every night. They woke up in the wee hours of the morning to bake those babies up ready for the morning "almusal" or breakfast. And after that, they make more bread, cakes and pastries for the day. I was a fan. However, busy with school and teenage life, I wasn't able to focus on becoming a baker myself or a business owner, but knew that one day I might somewhat, somehow be.

Three babies later, here I am with my littlest one kneading dough and piping icing bags once again. Ready to revisit that old dream, I decided to bake again. Hoping that by doing so, I am somehow influencing my kids to become responsible individuals who understands that doing what makes you happy in life is important to one's well being as well. Earning is secondary. Doing what you love is a necessity.
